Industry Development

The Industry Development Function intends to contribute towards the transformation of the cross-border road transport industry, thereby, increasing the number of participants in the cross-border transportation as business operators. The focus is mainly on increasing participation of Women, Youth and People with disabilities. 

One of the key initiatives under this function include the Incubation programme.

  1. Increase MSME Participation in the Cross-border Freight Sector 
    Encourage new entrants and domestic operators to establish viable cross border businesses.
    Promote the participation of women, youth and historically disadvantaged group
  2. Provide Market  Access and business Expansion Opportunities
    Facilitate B2B connections & partnerships with large transport operators.
    Enable MSMEs to ensure contracts & navigate procurement opportunities in SADC countries
  3. Provide training on cross-border regulations &trade agreements, Simplify compliance through digital tools & a dedicated MSME “ compliance Toolkit”

    Develop alternative fleet financing solution ( leasing, Cooperative ownership)

    Train MSME’s on Al-driven logistic & smart transport technologies
    Support adoption of green logistics innovations & fuel efficient solutions
  6. Foster Mentorship and Training Programme
    Establish structure mentorship initiatives with industry leaders
    Provide ongoing training & peer -learning opportunities for MSME’s beyond incubation
